Section 1: General:

 

Section 2:  Safety:

 

2.1  RIS Racing and Safety Rules apply to this class. Eight lap heats and twelve lap feature.

 

Section 3:  Bodies:

 

3.1  Body to be original stock appearing from the factory and can be any two wheel sedan. The body can be either factory skin or aftermarket steel dirt racing but must keep stock style appearance. No box type bodies -keep it looking like a car. No two seat sport cars. Body must have radius bends to be stock appearing. Minimum cutting of fender wells for tire clearance is allowed.  All glass and chrome trim must be removed. Steel or aluminum bumper must be welded to cars. No jagged edges. Outer edge must not extend past fender; suggest they be rolled in behind quarter panels. No cowcatchers style bumpers.

3.2  Minimum of 18” tall and placed on both doors and roof of car. Numbers must be in contrasting colors as to be seen from the press box. No holograms numbers. If unreadable from the press box the car will not be scored. The using of three digits numbers is being phased out. If you use a third digit make sure that it is at least 9” tall.

3.3  Fiberglass hoods allowed but must be stock configuration and appearing.

 

Section 4:  Frame:

 

4.1  Unibodies may be tied together with bracing done on frame for rigidity, keeping the frame stock..

4.2  The stock steel unaltered floor pan, from the factory firewall to the trunk floor must be retained. The only exception is cutting for fuel cell installation.

 

Section 5:  Roll Cage:

 

5.1  Minimum four point cage with minimum three driver sidebars. 1 ¾ inch tubing with .095 walls or 1 ½ inch tubing with .125 walls. Front and rear loops are permitted. Track officials will inspect all roll cage installation for safety.

 

Section 6:  Firewalls:

 

Section 7:  Wheels/Tires:

 

7.1  Steel wheels with an eight inch width limit. Tires can be any D.O.T.  or racing type but must be eight inches touching track surface. No bead locks allowed.

 

Section 8:  Brakes:

 

Section 9:  Suspension and Steering:

 

9.1  Suspension may be modified, aftermarket springs and shocks allowed. Spacers are permitted. No tubular A–arms, air shocks or weight jacks are allowed.

 

Section 10:  Clutch/Transmission/Running Gear:

 

10.1  Must have a single disc clutch or a working torque converter. All standard transmissions must have a blow proof bellhousing or a shield of metal or conveyer belt between the transmission and floorboard. All transmissions must have forward and reverse gears.

 

Section ll:  Rear End:

 

11.1  Stock O.E.M. type rear-end only. Must match body and frame, Chevy to Chevy, etc.

 

Section 12:  Battery & Electronics:

 

12.1  Battery may be relocated, but must be securely strapped and in anchored steel enclosed box.

12.2  Stock Distributors, no magnetos.

 

Section 13:  Cooling System:

 

Section 14:  Fuel System:

 

14.1  One carburetor to be one or two barrel, naturally aspired gasoline, down draft only. No type injection, be it air, water, fuel or nitrous oxide. Carburetor claim is $200 plus exchanging of carburetor off car making claim. Car claiming must finish race to be able to claim and also proving it has a working carburetor by being able to finish race. Claim must be made within ten minutes after race. Only driver finishing in that race is allowed to claim carburetor. Refusal to sell will result in loss of money and points for that night.

14.2  Fuel cell is mandatory. No boat tanks, metal boxes or homemade boxes allowed.  Trunk flooring may be removed to mount cell. Fuel cells must be contained in reinforced steel container and be securely mounted with at least two 1inch straps at least one foot front the rear bumper and not directly over the rearend.

 

Section 15: Engines:

 

15.1  Engine must be four cylinders only and must be in stock location. Engine must match body such as Ford to Ford, etc. Flat tappet or hydraulic cams only. No roller cam or dual cams. No aftermarket aluminum heads, eight valve heads only. .060 oversized pistons maximum. No dome pistons. No rotary engines or mid-engines or rear engines allowed. Headers are permitted.

 

Section 16:  Weight:

 

16.1  All participating cars must weigh a minimum of 2300 pounds, after feature race with driver.  No fuel may be added prior to weigh-in.
